The Commission Process - FAQs
How do we start the process?
We begin with a conversation in person or via Zoom about what it is that you are looking for and whether I am the right artist for you. If it looks like a good fit, we agree on a size, theme, price and deadline.
How do you determine the price?
My pricing formula is determined on the size of the canvas, materials used, and includes framing and delivery within Australia.
How long does it take to finish?
I usually allow four to six weeks depending on the size and complexity of the artwork.
What input can I have in the design process?
Clients generally have a strong idea of the design and colour scheme they would like and I welcome discussion around these areas. The most successful commissions are those where the artwork reflects the client’s story and is unique to them.
Can I see the design before you begin?
I provide an initial drawing or digital mock-up before production begins on the final artwork and the opportunity to discuss any concerns or changes in the design. It is important that we have the same understanding and expectations for the project.
Can I see the artwork while you are making it?
I have a consultation mid-way through the project at which time minor changes (up to two) can be accommodated if requested. Once the painting is complete I will send you photos for your approval. I request final payment before framing and delivery.
What If I’m not happy with the finished artwork?
It is important that you love the painting that I make for you. If, for any reason, you are not completely happy, you can return the painting to me at any time within seven days for a full refund.
